We have been awarded further EC TACIS Program

EACOO [logo]At the end of the year 2008, we have been awarded an EC funded contract on the R2.01/05 Project—"Development of the branch diagnostic system in the Concern Rosenergoatom". The project has been a part of the technical assistance TACIS Program provided by the European Commission to Eastern Europe and Middle Asia countries. The TACIS program has been organized and financed by the EC EuropeAid Cooperation Office. The project has been planned for 2 years and has been launched during February 2009. The goal of the project is to elaborate and install the software for data collection, processing, storage and display by the plant database system and data transfer to the Rosenergoatom diagnostic centre.

We have been involved in the EC TACIS Program

EACOO [logo]At the end of the year 2006, we have been awarded an EC funded contract on the R2.01/03 Project - "Transfer of international best-knowledge for the development of hydrogen safety systems for VVER-based NPP". The project has been a part of the technical assistance TACIS Program provided by the European Commission to Eastern Europe and Middle Asia countries. The TACIS program has been organized and financed by the EC EuropeAid Cooperation Office. The project has been planned for 2 years and will be launched during February 2007. It should result in a conceptual design of a hydrogen safety system to be installed in a VVER-1000 reactor containment.

Validation of the TRACE Code for WWER type of Reactors

TES Company experts have started a new extensive project "Validation of the TRACE Code for WWER type of Reactors"in April 2008. The project is funded by Ministry of Industry and Trade of Czech Republic in frame of R&D program IMPULS.

Code Assessment and Maintenance Programme

TES Company experts have successfully presented their paper "Numerical Analysis of Mixing Factors in the RPV of VVER-440 Reactor Using the TRACE Code" within a meeting of CAMP (Code Assessment and Maintenance Programme) members. This meeting was held 28-30.5.2008 in Pisa, Italy. The relevant technical report was approved as a contribution of the Czech Republic within the CAMP.

MOSAD®–5 Monitoring System

In December 2006, an upgraded MOSAD®–5 monitoring system was put into operation at both Temelin NPP units, partially replacing the existing MOSAD®–4 monitoring system.

The upgrading has increased the number of received signals, system functions have been extended and the basic system parameters have been improved. Currently, the system processes 288 fast analogue signals (>2ksample/s) and 3264 binary signals (1ksample/s) at each Temelin unit. In addition, it also processes diagnostic data from other equipment, like electrical protections, exciter set or group voltage control. Installing a database server and web interface has significantly improved data processing and operation comfort.

The IAEA OSART mission has recommended the on-line monitoring of plant electrical equipment by the MOSAD® system as a "Maintenance good practice", see report.
