MOSAD®–5 Monitoring System

MOSAD®–5 is a floor-standing modular system designed for continuous monitoring of the electrical equipment operation and detailed recording of fast transients and failures. It was developed on the basis of the well proven system MOSAD®–4.

The IAEA OSART mission has recommended the on-line monitoring of plant electrical equipment by the MOSAD® system as a "Maintenance good practice", see report.

System features

  • Provides permanent monitoring of important analogue and binary parameters of electrical equipment (voltage, current, position of electrical contacts, relays, etc.) by a complex of data acquisition modules, which are organised into monitoring units.
  • The overall monitoring system consist of variable number of distributed monitoring units, equipped with central control, data recorder and self-diagnostics.
  • A single analogue unit allows simultaneous monitoring of up to 128 continuous parameters.
  • A single binary unit allows simultaneous monitoring of up to 512 discrete parameters.
  • The system allows to combine analogue (at 8 inputs) and binary (at 32 inputs) measurement cards in each monitoring unit.
  • Modular design makes possible modification of the system according to the size of the monitored equipment or customer requirements.
  • Local or remote access to the system via WEB interface, including remote fault indication as well as the possibility of e-mails generating according to predefined events.
  • Connecting of the measuring system to standard sensors equipped with electrical output (voltage/current transformers, operational instrumentation), connecting to contacts of switching elements (circuit breakers, switches, relays…).
  • Galvanic separation each of inputs, synchronous sampling, time standard generator possibility e.g. GPS.
  • Time resolution of up to 0.1 ms for analogue and binary parameters in case of busy monitoring unit, up to 0.005 ms in case of minimum monitoring unit load (only one measurement card).
  • Transient recorder mode.
  • Real time computation of mean and RMS value, active and reactive power, frequency, phase shift, power factor etc. and their continuous periodic recording (e.g. 60 s).
  • Data acquisition from external facilities via data communication (MODBUS, SPA-BUS…).
  • Original GRAF and LOGA software is available for efficient processing of the acquired data, enabling displaying of time behaviour of the monitored parameters as well as printing reports.
  • Fully autonomous operation of the monitoring system.
  • Robust design suitable for industrial applications.
  • High overall system reliability.
