Circuit Diagnostics
A regular circuit diagnostics is necessary to prevent electrical equipment failures that may result in significant material losses or personnel injuries.
We perform non-destructive diagnostics of power, control and instrumentation circuits, including cables, connections, penetrations and end devices.
The diagnostic is based on repeated measurements of the following parameters of de-energized circuit:
- DC and insulation resistance
- Impedance and phase angle measured at several frequencies
- Distributed parameters of the circuit using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR)
It can be applied as a tool of preventive maintenance or for identifying and locating actual failures.
We use ECAD®1000 and ECAD®1100 testing systems produced by CM Technologies Corporation, USA.
Measurement features
- Connecting of the testing system directly to terminals of the tested circuit
- Automatic performance of system calibration and diagnostics including measurement of a voltage present at the tested circuit
- Automatic test performance controlled by a computer
- Storage of the data acquired during the test in a system database
- Calculation of AC parameters and factors indicating insulation quality (quality factor, dissipation factor, polarization ration, dielectric absorption ration)
- Providing comprehensive information of electrical characteristics of the tested circuit
- Immediate evaluation of the test results by comparison of the acquired data with those of a reference test (the very first test at the same circuit)
- Estimation of a remaining lifetime based on a long term circuit testing
- The testing methodology has no adverse effects on the tested circuit
